Skydance Paramount Will Cut Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce full details via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports had indicated the firm aimed to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 contract workers.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
